PROTEST AGAINST MISUSE OF IPC 498 A AND OTHER DOWRY LAWS
INVITATION
On the occasion of Women's Equality day falling on Sunday 26th of August 2007, victims and families of cases under Section 498A of IPC, Dowry Prohibition Act and Domestic Violence Act are undertaking a peaceful protest against the misuse of such Laws.
The SIF and other groups from all over India are jointly organising this protest on behalf of suffering husbands, mothers, sisters, children & relatives.
Many prominent persons and VIP's from various parts of India will also be taking part. Complete media coverage in various news channels & newspapers are also expected.
The sole purpose of this protest is to peacefully draw attention of the Government, Judiciary, Police and other concerned authorities on the MISUSE of section IPC 498a and Dowry Prohibition Act and Domestic Violence Act.
We therefore warmly invite you and families to participate in the event. We also ask that you circulate this generously, targeting as many victims/VIP's/media persons as possible, in support of making this a successful event.
